Why Diners Choose Mr. Lam

Authentic Sichuan numbing spice, customizable dishes, and shareable group dining in Chinatown

  • Authentic, Sinus-Clearing Mala Profiles

Guests seeking true Sichuan heat experience signature dishes prepared with assertive chili oil and Sichuan peppercorns that deliver an authentic, tingling numbing kick.

The flavors are super authentic, just like in China. The Mao Xue Wang is spot on—spicy, flavorful, and just the right numbing kick.

  • Balanced Peppercorn Heat in Specialty Fish Dishes

Tender fish fillets and simmered broths combine peppercorn punch with balanced depth, ensuring vibrant spice without losing textural nuance.

The standout dish for me was the Fish Fillet with Sichuan Pepper in Hot Chili Oil—perfectly tender fish with just the right amount of numbing spice and heat.

  • Adaptable Dishes for Dietary Preferences

Diners who cannot tolerate intense chili can easily coordinate with staff to select non-spicy staples or tailor mixed stews by removing unwanted elements.

We ordered three vegetarian dishes and I especially like the tofu dish. It was supposed to be “Seafood Tofu Stew” but we requested them to remove the seafood as one of our friends is vegetarian. Even the seafood was removed, the tofu stew is still very delicious.

This place served huge portions with a very filling with decent prices.

  • Effortless Accommodations for Large Gatherings

Long tables, shareable dish formats, and private dining options make it easy to host large parties where everyone can sample widely across the menu.

We booked last minute and got a long table for 12. While we couldn’t really mingle we all knew to order dishes to share and there was enough to just about everyone to sample.
