About Bastani

Bastani delivers homestyle Persian cooking and small-batch ice creams tucked along Pennant Hills Road. The kitchen builds deep, comforting sauces—tangy pomegranate-walnut fesenjan, barberry-laced zereshk polo, and slow-braised lamb shanks tumbling off the bone alongside fluffy saffron rice. Between pours of spiced coffee and impromptu tunes from the host, diners tuck into crusty subs packed with saucy sosis bandari sausages. Finish with the house bastani: traditional saffron ice cream studded with crunchy frozen cream chunks and paired with sour cherry faloodeh.

  • Handcrafted Persian Ice Cream: House-made traditional saffron ice cream loaded with frozen cream chunks, served alongside tart cherry faloodeh.
  • Homestyle Iranian Comforts: Hearty fesenjan stews, tender lamb shanks, barberry chicken, and street-style saucy sosis bandari subs.
  • Warm Personal Hospitality: A cozy dining room shaped by the host's stories, Persian coffee, and welcoming hospitality.

Handmade Persian bastani, comforting home-style cooking, and heartfelt personal hospitality.

  • Authentic Home-Style Iranian Stews and Rice

Traditional recipes like barberry chicken (Zereshk Polo Morgh) and walnut pomegranate stews (Khoresht-e Fesenjan) deliver rich, classic Persian comfort.

The Zereshk Polo Morgh (barberry chicken) and Khoreshtw Fesenjan (walnut cranberry meatballs) are our favourites.

Helpful ordering and dining tips based on guest experiences

  • Eat Ice Cream On Site

The house-made traditional ice cream melts rapidly due to its handmade consistency, so enjoy your scoops in-store rather than taking them away or freezing them at home.

  • Plan to Share Large Portions

Portions for slow-cooked specialties like the lamb shank and hearty Persian stews are very generous, making them ideal to share among dining companions.

  • Use the Illustrated In-House Menu

If navigating Persian dishes is unfamiliar or English communication feels challenging over the phone, dining in allows you to rely on the picture menu and direct host guidance.
