About Parami

Down a quiet Alberta Street laneway, Parami trades standard cafe breakfasts for hand-shaped onigiri and precision Japanese tea. Early regulars queue along the shaded pavement for rice balls wrapped in nori and packed with roasted salmon, spicy chilli char siu, or Spam and egg. The tea program leans serious—whisked, unsweetened matcha lattes and crisp hojicha cold brew served without syrup. Over in the glass case sit muffins baked fresh every morning, hiding a chewy mochi base beneath strawberry and pistachio. Nab a stool outside under the trees with a bowl of chicken and ginger soup, and grab an extra rice ball for the walk.

  • Signature Mochi Muffins: Baked daily with subtle sweetness and chewy mochi bases, featuring combinations like matcha, strawberry, and pistachio.
  • Authentic Onigiri: Handmade rice balls packed with fillings like Sha-ke salmon, chilli chashu, and Spam and egg.
  • Precision Japanese Teas: Whisked, unsweetened matcha lattes and cold-brewed hojicha served in a quiet laneway setting.

  • Daily Fresh Mochi-Textured Muffins

Freshly baked daily house muffins incorporate chewy mochi textures and Japanese flavor profiles like strawberry and earthy matcha.

Do also get their muffins — not overhyped in the slightest and baked fresh daily. Tried their matcha strawberry one and it was so moist, earthy, and the addition of mochi was so unique!

  • Velvety, Balanced Matcha Lattes

Whisked pure and flavored matchas deliver balanced sweetness, dense foam, and rich green tea notes.

Also, the matcha latte tastes good, the tea and milk blended perfectly, and the foam was rich and creamy.

Helpful ordering and timing tips for visiting this Alberta Street cafe

  • Anticipate peak morning queues

Morning and weekend brunch crowds can produce lines with around 20 people, though the queue moves quickly if you are ordering takeaway.

  • Opt for takeaway during rush hours

Onigiri and drinks are packed for convenience, making takeaway ideal since laneway seating is limited and heavily outdoor-focused.

  • Combine onigiri with fresh mochi muffins

Pairing savory rice balls like spam or yakitori with house-baked mochi muffins and whisked matcha lattes balances sweet and savory options.
