About Goodwood Bakeshop - Marrickville

The line stretching down Marrickville Road before 7:30 AM forms for serious viennoiserie—crisp pastry shells giving way to soft, butter-rich layers. Regulars swear by the ham and Gruyère croissant, packed with molten cheese and whole mustard seed. Fruit danishes rotate with the season—fig, blackberry, poached quince—alongside savory quiches flecked with zucchini and herbs. On the back shelves, specialty sourdoughs like the sour cherry, almond, and fennel loaf disappear just as fast, boxed up alongside warm flat whites.

  • Laminated Pastries: Pastries pair shatteringly crisp shells with soft, butter-rich layers, led by a ham and Gruyère croissant spiked with mustard seed.
  • Seasonal & Savory Bakes: Daily trays feature rotating fruit danishes like fig and blackberry alongside zucchini-herb quiches and everything-bagel seasoned bakes.
  • Specialty Sourdough: Artisanal breads include a sour cherry, almond, and fennel loaf, with complimentary sourdough starter offered to home bakers upon request.

  • Hot Cross Bun

Hot cross bun: This one was my favourite :) the bread was nice and soft with big raisins inside. Also like how the raisins on the surface get a bit crispy. The spices come through after the hit of sweetness and brings a bit of warmth. Very delightful

  • Lemon Myrtle Morning Bun

when I heard Goodwood had a lemon Myrtle morning bun, I was super excited. Last week, the lady in front bought the last one, so I got up early to come today. Thankfully they had one, and it is hands down my favourite treat I’ve had in a very long time!
