Ormeggio at The Spit

for dolci (dessert), we had to pick their Delizia al limone, an Amalfi lemon gelato served with candied lemon and tableside service of torched Italian meringue. a superb display and a wonderful dessert, the lemon flavour was so divine and the meringue takes on a marshmallow-like consistency which was so addicting.

we ofc had to start off with their signature snack, the Scampi Brioche with lightly smoked WA scampi, pistachio and Oscietra caviar. wow i loved this, so well balanced with the sweetness of the brioche and i pretty much licked that pistachio cream clean. definitely order this snack!

the Line-caught Coral Trout Crudo was also probably the best crudo i've ever had, which is not to be taken lightly! i adored the crispy puffed rice, sweet nectarine and yellow peach, alongside yoghurt and smoked butter that complemented the fish so well.

we weren't super hungry so we opted to share their signature pasta dish, Ormeggio's Bottoni. i had not tried this pasta shape before so was very surprised at these perfectly round discs, filled to the brim with Parmigiano-Reggiano crust. rich and warm, this is definitely for the cheese lovers as they also pour a wonderful Parmigiano-Reggiano consommé on top of the roasted barley malt covering the pasta.
