About Jams Karaoke & Bar

Neon-lit, kitschy, and unapologetically high-voltage—this is Newcastle's go-to spot for genuine nijikai energy. Regulars head straight for the private booths to lock down total playlist control, queuing up throwback anthems and stage-ready ballads over soundproofed hardware imported straight from Japan. Out at the front bar, the room dissolves into full-blown communal sing-alongs under bubble machines, fueled by an enthusiastic staff that doubles as a personal hype crew. Rounding out the session: plates of crisp chicken bites, yakitori skewers, and chilled sake tasting boards dispatched directly to your room without missing a beat.

  • Private Karaoke Booths: Private booths with Japanese karaoke hardware, full playlist control, and direct room service.
  • Communal Main Bar: Communal sing-alongs, bubble machines, and high-energy staff backing up every performance.
  • Izakaya Fare & Cocktails: Plates of yakitori, chicken bites, sake tasting flights, and cocktails delivered to your table.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between singing at the bar and booking a private room?

Can you order food and drinks directly to the karaoke rooms?

Yes, you can order food and cocktails directly to your private karaoke room for prompt delivery throughout your session, or head down to the main bar.

Do you need to book a karaoke room in advance?

Advance reservations are recommended for private booths. The venue is reservable, though patrons note that room bookings can fill up and scheduling should be confirmed carefully in advance.

Is parking available at the venue?

Street parking can be tight due to the venue's central Newcastle West location, so visitors often recommend planning ahead or walking over while enjoying an evening out.
