About Sella Vinoteca

Sella Vinoteca delivers authentic Sardinian culinary traditions and bottles rarely seen in standard Sydney trattorias. Tucked away in the Newmarket precinct, this neighbourhood vinoteca bypasses predictable pasta tropes in favor of regional dishes like house-made fregola, hand-shaped gnocchetti sardi, and silky Cantabrian anchovies served warm straight in the tin alongside crisp pane carasau. Tables regularly turn into lively blind tastings when staff challenge guests with mystery wine pours by the glass, while larger dinner parties can order à la carte across the entire menu rather than getting locked into rigid set courses. Tables look out over the park greenery, with fresh focaccia and a curated bottle from the in-house wine shop rounding out an easy afternoon.

  • Distinct Sardinian regional menu: Hand-rolled gnocchetti sardi, fregola, and Cantabrian anchovies warmed in the tin bring regional Sardinian culinary heritage to the table.
  • Interactive wine experience: Floor staff guide spontaneous blind tasting challenges with mystery wine pours alongside an internal retail cellar.
  • Flexible large-group dining: Parties of up to twelve can share dishes freely across the entire food list rather than being locked into rigid set menus.
