About Ren Ishii Restaurant

Tucked into Ramsgate, Ren Ishii serves city-standard Japanese fusion without the commute into Sydney CBD. The kitchen turns out share plates that bypass convention—think fresh sashimi wrapped in crisp betel leaves with yuzu rather than fried shells, yellowfin tuna pizza, and charred wagyu kushiyaki skewers dripping in savoury sauce. Tables fill fast for milestone dinners and casual catchups over plates of pork belly pancakes, soft shell crab rolls, and glasses of Asahi Super Dry on tap. Finish with a torch-crisped brûlée crepe before stepping out near the beach.

  • Betel Leaf Sashimi Tacos: Raw fish tacos swap standard taco shells for crisp, refreshing betel leaves dressed with yuzu.
  • Inventive Sharing Menu: Share-friendly plates span charred wagyu kushiyaki skewers, tuna pizza, and pork belly pancakes.
  • CBD Calibre Locally: Delivers the polished execution of top city-centre dining rooms right in suburban Ramsgate.
