About A.P Bread & Wine (A.P Bakery)

Housed in a heritage sandstone cottage, this Darlinghurst outpost flips morning pastry craft into unhurried, wine-fueled evening dinners. Diners drop in early for espresso alongside flaky danishes, then circle back at dusk as the sunken courtyard and warm stone dining room transition into small-plates territory. The kitchen leans directly into its baking roots—folding day-old loaves into leftover bread spaghetti laced with anchovies, pairing rich broths with warm baguettes, and serving crisp fried fish with kombu butter begging for scarpetta with crusty sourdough. The night winds down easily over shared bottles of Adelaide Hills red, oysters crowned with charred pork belly, and tall wedges of multi-layered chocolate cake.

  • Bakery-to-bistro shift: Flaky pastries, specialty coffee, and eggs with buttered baguettes give way to shared pasta, baked oysters, and wine at night.
  • Heritage sandstone cottage: Sunken outdoor seating and warm, historic stone interiors create an unhurried, laid-back formal dining setting.
  • Bread-centric plates: The dinner menu repurposes artisan loaves into dishes like leftover bread spaghetti with anchovies and crusty bread for mopping sauces.
