Right on George Street across from the QVB, Workshop Espresso delivers calibrated caffeine hits and serious matcha to the morning rush. The hole-in-the-wall kiosk runs at a clip, pulling dark-roast Toby’s Estate espresso custom-blended just for the counter. Commuters rely on their flat whites—steamed sweet and poured at an exact, drinkable temperature rather than scalded to death. The order to know, though, is the iced matcha latte. Packed with vegetal, deep-green powder instead of diluted milk, it comes crowned with an optional scoop of matcha gelato that melts into the cup as you lean against the kerbside ledge and watch the trams pass.
