Book NowAbout The Old City Bank Bar and Brasserie
Set in a historic former bank, this split-level Katoomba refuge delivers cold local beer and serious pub fare right when mountain legs give out. Pull up downstairs for a casual counter-ordered pint of Katoomba Witbier, or head up the stairs into the wood-paneled brasserie for full table service. The kitchen handles comforting classics like tender lamb shanks and steak and ale pie alongside roasted bone marrow and kangaroo skewers. Walk-ins crowd the bar after a long trek, tucking into charred scotch fillets and bowls of hot chips while conversation hums against the vintage wooden walls.
- Two-level layout: Downstairs caters to casual counter ordering and pints, while the quieter upstairs dining room offers dedicated brasserie table service.
- Dual pub and brasserie menus: Hearty options span classic beef and ale pies and burgers to elevated brasserie plates like kangaroo skewers and bone marrow.
- Post-trail replenishment: Just a short walk from Katoomba Station, offering comforting hot meals and cold pints ideal for post-hike refueling.
