Historic Rocks charm meets meticulous French pastry craft, tucked away from the harbour rush. Skip the streetfront counters and head straight through the sandstone shop to the leafy courtyard garden out back. Pastry cases show off glossy, sculpted entremets that dial back the sugar in favour of clean fruit notes—from the raspberry-and-lychee Monet to the velvety Goya. Flaky almond croissants and crisp baguettes anchor the morning crowd, while buttery sausage rolls and savoury quiches make for an easy takeaway run down toward Circular Quay.
- Secluded courtyard retreat: Tucked behind the shopfront, the garden courtyard offers a quiet open-air escape with classic cafe tables.
- Artisan French entremets: Glazed individual mousse cakes like the Monet balance delicate sponge, lychee, and raspberry with restrained sweetness.
- Handcrafted savoury bakes: Warm, flaky sausage rolls, baguettes, and fresh quiches ready for takeaway near Circular Quay.

Before you head over
Practical advice for seating, peak lines, and pastry selections in The Rocks
Head straight to the rear courtyard for quiet seating
Head through the shop to discover the secluded courtyard at the back if you want a quiet escape, or take front pavement seating if you prefer watching the street bustle.
Opt for takeaway when indoor and counter lines pick up
The counter can experience queues and busy crowds during peak hours, so grab neatly boxed pastries, baguettes, or quiches to go for nearby spots like Circular Quay or the Botanic Gardens.
Target low-sugar mousse entremets and dietary-friendly bakes
If you are after lighter desserts that are not overly sugary, prioritize signature entremets like the Monet and Goya, and ask about gluten- and dairy-free options like the orange almond cake.
