Is a ferry, walk and lunch in Balmain a good Sydney half-day?

I know the major Sydney sights already and have four days on a return visit, so I want a relaxed neighbourhood outing if the weather cooperates.

    Check the ferry timetable in both directions and have a bus alternative in mind if the service pattern does not fit your lunch. A short neighbourhood loop is enough for a half-day.
