About The Carpenter

Tucked into an industrial backstreet warehouse in Leichhardt, The Carpenter pours precision-pulled specialty roasts alongside hearty, scratch-made brunch. No flashy street frontage here—just a converted brick space off Flood Street where regulars pull up chairs for morning flat whites pulled on a sleek Mavam espresso rig. Inner West dog walkers commandeer the pet-friendly corner while plates of crisp hash browns, runny poached eggs, and savoury truffle eggs hit the tables. The kitchen turns out buttery smashed avocado croissants and fluffy hot cakes heaped with toasted almonds and fresh fruit.

  • Backstreet warehouse setting: Tucked away off Flood Street with no prominent signage, serving coffee in a quiet, converted industrial setting.
  • Specialty espresso rig: Espresso and filter extractions pulled using a specialized under-counter Mavam machine and Mahlkönig grinders.
  • Dog-friendly space: Dedicated seating spaces accommodate guests dining or grabbing takeaway alongside their dogs.
