How can a first-time visitor see everyday Sydney beyond the landmarks?
I will see the Opera House, bridge and Bondi, but also want neighbourhood food and bars that feel less like a sightseeing circuit.

Look for community markets, small performances and neighbourhood walks in current council or venue calendars. That is more reliable than an old list of supposedly local places.

Spend an afternoon in one neighbourhood rather than crossing the city for a list of venues. Walk its shopping streets, eat where the current menu appeals and use local event listings for that evening.
