A good question.
A local answer.

Compare exact hotels near useful rail or ferry stations in the CBD, The Rocks or nearby inner areas, not suburb names alone.

Compare apartment kitchens with hotel facilities across the full two weeks, including cleaning and cancellation terms.

Map each exact address to the train or bus stop you would use daily; the suburb name alone hides different travel times.

Choose Darling Harbour if the dining and entertainment around that precinct appeal more. Check the route to the rail or light rail stop from the specific hotel.

Look at the exact hotel entrance: Darling Harbour covers a broad area, and some routes include hills or crossings. Check walking times for your group.

Compare Bondi and Coogee by the accommodation you can actually book and the walk to a beach, breakfast and dinner. For a short final stay, a convenient block matters more than the suburb name.

Choose the exact property by its walk to a ferry or rail connection, not just a suburb name. A quiet street can still require a steep or lengthy walk.

Value the points difference against transport savings, breakfast and cancellation terms. Choose the hotel that makes mornings and evenings easier, not simply the one nearest one landmark.

Check recent reviews for lift access, street noise and kitchen equipment. Choose the option that best supports how you will actually spend mornings and evenings.

Compare recent reviews of the exact room category, floor and view rather than brand averages. Ask each hotel whether your room faces a busy event area.

Compare a private hostel room with a simple hotel by total price, lift access and evening transport. A shared dormitory may not provide the rest you want.

Compare the full price after any credits, breakfast and cancellation terms. A room that looks nicer online may still differ by category.
