About Bennie’s Cafe · Bistro

Right along the Opera Quays promenade, Bennie’s Cafe · Bistro pairs panoramic Sydney Harbour views with an all-day kitchen that keeps cooking late. Take a seat under the broad umbrellas to watch ferries glide past Circular Quay with a cold Benni Spritz in hand. Patrons heading home from Sydney Opera House performances rely on the kitchen for a proper late-night feed well past 10pm—serving hot bowls of noodles, burgers, and garlic bread. Morning regulars drop by for flat whites, eggs benedict, and zucchini fritters before the foreshore fills up, while evening tables fill with lobster rolls, tandoori wings, and towering slices of lemon meringue tart.

  • Late-Night Promenade Feeds: Orders keep rolling at 10pm for post-opera dinners, sending out hot noodle bowls, burgers, and late drinks.
  • Harbourside Outdoor Tables: Shaded umbrella tables along the quay provide clear views of the harbour ferries and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

  • Late-Night Hot Kitchen on Opera Quays

Unlike daytime-only cafes along the promenade, full hot meals and cocktails are served late into the night for post-theatergoers and festival attendees.

We ordered at 10pm and received some very delicious and piping hot noodles, a well cooked burger and some tasty tandoori wings.

  • Weather-Protected Outdoor Seating

Undercover seating and dedicated large umbrellas ensure comfortable waterfront dining shielded from excessive sun or sudden rain.

It was one of those extremely muggy, hot Sydney days, but the café does a good job with undercover seating and umbrellas, which makes it far more comfortable than many places along the quay.
